Primary Extension and Challenge (PEAC) is a department supported program, that caters for students who have been identified to be gifted in a particular area. PEAC caters for Year 5 and 6 students who have been identified after completing two instruments (tests) in Year 4. Students are considered suitable for PEAC if they achieve in the 99th percentile and above in the Standard Progressive Matrices, and/or the 97th percentile and above in the Test of Learning Ability 4.
PEAC centres offer a wide range of extension courses as well as specialist courses in a variety of community and educational settings, such as IT, the Arts and Science.
Takari Primary School is a part of the North Metropolitan Education Region. PEAC courses are self-funded and cost between $10-$100.
